Tomatoes
Variety: Gin Fizz, Rebelski, Chef's Choice, Marnero, Marbonne, Margold
Season: Summer, Early Fall

Storage & Culinary Tips
-
Store tomatoes at room temperature out of direct sunlight. Storing in the refrigerator can degrade the texture and make them mealy. Will store for up to a week.
-
Store tomatoes stem-side down as the “bottom” of the tomatoes are fragile when ripe and can bruise easily.
-
Fresh tomatoes are delicious sliced thickly, drizzled with good olive oil and coarse salt and eaten on a slice of good bread.
-
If you want to preserve some for the winter, slow roast them with plenty of olive oil, garlic, and herbs and put them in a ziploc bag or jar in the freezer.
-
Or simply cut out the stem and freeze the tomatoes whole. When you need a tomato or two for sauce or soups in the winter, pull them out, run them under warm water and the skin will peel right off!
-
If you find yourself wanting to be creative with your tomatoes, the possibilities are endless. Add them into any salad, make gazpacho, fresh salsa, a simple pasta sauce or tomato pie.
