Storage & Culinary Tips

-
Do not wash before storing, only wash right before consuming. Store in a sealed plastic bag or in your crisper drawer of the refrigerator. Best to store as dry as possible, because any residual moisture in the bag will cause the cucumber or age faster. For long term storage, wrap the cucumber in clean dish towel or paper towel inside of the plastic bag and place in crisper drawer. Use within a week of harvest.
-
We grow the variety Katrina which is a Persian cucumber type. Katrinas are smaller cucumbers with a firmer texture and a little less water content making them great for salads, snacking or pickling.
-
Eat your cukes as an easy snack, sliced and sprinkled with a touch of sugar and a little salt. Or make a salad with smashed ginger and garlic, or enjoy them in chilled soups, or made the classic cucumber dip, tzatziki! Cucumbers are also great for green juice and cocktails.
