Cucumbers
Season: Early Summer-Early Fall
Variety: Katrina

Storage & Culinary Tips
-
Do not wash before storing, only wash right before consuming. Store in a sealed plastic bag or in your crisper drawer of the refrigerator.
-
Best to store as dry as possible, because any residual moisture in the bag will cause the cucumber or age faster.
-
For long term storage, wrap the cucumber in clean dish towel or paper towel inside of the plastic bag and place in crisper drawer. Use within a week of harvest.
-
We grow the variety Katrina which is a Persian cucumber type. Katrinas are smaller cucumbers with a firmer texture and a little less water content making them great for salads, snacking or pickling.
-
Eat your cukes as an easy snack, sliced and sprinkled with a touch of sugar and a little salt. Or make a salad with smashed ginger and garlic, or enjoy them in chilled soups, or made the classic cucumber dip, tzatziki!
-
Cucumbers are also great for green juice and cocktails.
